Parker Novak
Qualified Mindfulness Instructor
Parker’s career spans a decade in clinical healthcare, with professional partnerships including Kaiser Permanente and UNC Health Systems. Though her training began in primary care, Parker quickly oriented towards behavioral health after she witnessed that small behavior changes could transform a patient's health outcomes. Parker joined an exciting team at UC San Diego’s Center for Integrative Health in 2022 and received her qualification to teach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. She sat on intensive 5-day silent retreats and grounded the proper technique. Carrying this knowledge to the world, Parker teaches and fosters a restorative mindfulness practice in a variety of local and online settings.
Parker's approach allows individuals of varying cognitive abilities to receive adequate instruction. With specialty working in trauma-affected populations, such as those of the Colorado Coalition of the Homeless and the Center For Autism & Related Disorders, as well as with the elderly, Parker centers the diverse experience of her students in her teaching.
